Went with husband and two kids. Excellent location, friendly and super helpful staff. Clean apartment with great views. Great heated indoor pool, unfortunately didn't use the outdoor pool. Would recommend this accomodation to anyone, great value for money.

This is gem situated between more expensive accommodation. We had a balcony unit on the sixth floor with ocean views. Pool, barbie set in nice gardens. Secure parking and a very clean unit with all the facilities of home. The bus is at the door and you can rent a smart car very cheaply across the road. Very friendly staff

Nice Rooms, well appointed, lovely verandah.
Very noisy room, with early start golfers in loud hailers every 15 minutes from 6.15am Sat morning. Saturday evening wedding at restaurant very noisy guests returning to rooms until 1.30am also noisy staff cleaning up after wedding recycling bottles etc. Reception staff not friendly or helpful, asked for more towels due to cochroaches settling on them in bathroom and were told we should be charged for extra towels, not impressed

Thought we had a self contained room. But no we didn't. If we had a larger studio would not want to stay in ordinary studio. The blind annoyed me no end. We like to leave the door open, with full width this was not possible. So no privacy or no darkness if you want to sleep in.

The managers are very rude.

The hotel looks newer on the internet than it actually is.

Hi all, I am a very easy going bloke but beleive me when I say.... This palce is very disappointing. I had booked this place to give my hard working wife abit of R&R ...well it didnt go to plan. Very dated rooms and NOT CLEAN. I have stayed in 2.5-3 star places which were MUCH better. This place is for tourist who come from conjested country ie China, Japan etc and they dont know any better but here in Australia and Western world residence, we expect better and living standards has to be up to standard. We work hard for the $$ we earn and some of us wait a long time before we can afford a holiday. THIS PLACE IS 2 Star. Seaworld is the best....but Seaworld Resort is one of the worst.

Have stayed at both Crystal Beach apartments and Pelican Sands next door. Defenitely better at Crystal Beach. The atmosphere was even better then expected. You could spend a week at PS and meet no one besides in the lift. It's like a morgue!
Crystal Beach's Grounds, management, location are very good.

We find it hard to fathem the negative comments from one of the reviews below. Obviously expected a lot more then what they paid for. We had a wonderful time again at Crystal Beach. The location is hard to beat, MANAGEMENT were wonderful and so helpful. Excellent family atmosphere.

We stayed at 201 Lake Street for 6 nights and got a great deal, it being the off season. It was a little uncomfortable 10-15min walk to town in that kind of heat. Owners were extremely helpful, with a great after hours reception, and helping us book our tours. Really appreciated the in suite laundry. Very nice spacious, modern apartment.

I recommend Xanadu Resort to all. We go every year. The appartments have very modern up to date furniture, clean and best of all you never need to ask or pay extra for an ocean view as all appartments in both towers face the water. This is why we like it and we go up every year and stay at the same resort.

The lady on the front desk was quite curt to the point of being rude. It was a family weekend for my mothers 70th birthday and when my mother requested articles for kitchen that were not there she was made to feel quite upset with her attitude towards her , also she was rude to me about parking spots I think her attitude does not do well in the job she is in and should probably have less contact with guests

We really enjoyed our stay at Couran Cove. It was great that the marine deluxe suites had kitchen facilities - it saved us a bit of cash. Wonderful to wake up to the water views of the marina. We were lucky to go after the Australia Day holiday when school had resumed - it was much quieter apparently than the week prior. I came away very relaxed.

Disliked: Meal options at the central Spa Island cafe. Perhaps some affordable snacks to enjoy by the pool.

not bad. for some reason they took us from level 9 beach view down to level 8 lake view.. nice apartments, wouldnt say we had a deluxe room though, nothing deluxe about it. wouldnt stay again considering it was abit pricey for what we got.

The hotel was very nice and we were on the bottom level and close to the pool which I was able to keep an eye on the kids whilst still in my room. The only disappointment was they told us we had beach view but the only thing we can see was the building next door - no beach view. Also the advertising of the room was modern and upto date, the room we had represented nothing like it which was very disappointed but overall it was a nice family place to stay and the staff at the reception were very nice aswell.

No ocean view as stated on website, however it was close enough to hear ocean, and enjoyed views of parklands. Loved the quiet off main street ambience, pool was great for the kids. 2 min walk to beach, and close to all shops.

Disliked: Rooms were not cleaned properly, we found broken glass under dishwasher, lollie papers under bed etc. Toilet was a little smelly when we arrived. Apartment in general could have been cleaner.

I have been in hospitality industry for more than 11 years. Sometimes a very little thing can bring disatisfaction from customers. This time during my 4 day stay,an extra roll of toilet paper has to be charged. I rather being charge a little more on the room rate other than add on additional charges. The rest, I am very happy to stay in the apartment.

2.00pm check in time should mean just that not 5.oopm as was the case with us. The attitude of the front desk was oh well this happens from time to time.which is not what I call very professional on their behalf. Other than that the stay was enjoyable.

Negatives:
- Very poor selection of food for our toddler(2yrs) only 4 choices of food for kids all came with chips. Would have liked to have seen kiddy friendly sandwiches ie ham, vegimite, cheese. Some sausages and spagetti/pasta, yoghurts and fruit would have been good too! For a resort that target family's you would think there would be a bigger variety for ALL ages!
- Over priced buffet for cold food might have something to do with the 'overpowering' air conditioning!
- No provision of a travel cot

My family stayed in A block which was backing onto the large lagoon pool. My kids loved this and we could sit on the balcony and watch them. The front balcony was great for happy hour overlooking the ocean and up to Surfers. The apartment was spacious and relaxing and very clean. I would certainly recommend Magic Mountain to families, its in a great postion and has so much to offer.

We found the unit very comfortable to stay in, 1 complaint is the curtains in the main bedroom allowed the morning sunrise to lighten the room from 5.30am .Should have blockout curtains. Otherwise the resort was great.

When we arrived at the resort the staff didn't tell us that there was a ramp around the side, instead we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs through the resort in 30 degree heat. It took us forever to reach the top of the penthouse. The staff were very rude and offered NO assistance. Penthouse had NO AIR-CON, NO BBQ, massive area above the penthouse with no bbq which was ridiculous. Our spa upstairs was nice apart from the buttons which were not working and the it was very noisy. Freezer was dirty (icypole stains), cupboards were dirty and the dishes were also filthy and not washed properly. The Lagoon Pool was adverstised as Penthouse Pool, but everyone in the resort had access to it which meant there was no time to relax and have a swim. There were too many little kids running around and jumping off the wall into the pool. The Gym had minimal equipment and should I add OLD equipment. I reckon they were as old as the the old lady from titanic. For the amount of money we paid they only supplied 3 rolls of toiletpaper, 1 sachet of dishwashing detergent and 1 sachet for the washing machine. No room service and the manager didn't even visit to see how our stay was soo far.

the lobby and grounds were beautiful, the rooms however were fairly dated and required some sprucing and maintenance - particularly bathroom and kitchenette. the balcony was more cement on grass with a couple chairs. the staff were generally of a cheery disposition and very helpful. all the rooms are 1 bedroom though, so whilst the grounds are great for families, it'd be good to have seperate rooms for the kids.

The staff at the front desk are extremely rude.....The staff are really rude. Furthermore when my brother called to give a credit card number the staff member said are you aware its after hours and was really rude. My wife was 7 months pregnant at the time and said it was the worst place she ever stayed due to how rude the staff were....Our 3 sons enjoyed the pools though.

Thought the appartment was very well set up and nice and clean. Lacked a table and a couple of chairs on the balcony but had lots of other homely touches that were appreciated. Great views and staff friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stay at this resort regularly. The rooms are very clean and the view is perfect. We always feel very relaxed after staying at the Royal Pacific.

Had a wonderful stay at Cotton Beach. The apartments are beautiful and the pools are fantastic. It's so close to the beach and the whole family had a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back in the future. A great place to get away from it all and Casuarina is so relaxing and different compared to the Gold Coast which is why we love it.

Our hostess Julie was lovely, could not do enough for us and was super friendly (without intruding), a real people person, really made us feel comfortable & welcome, our townhouse overlooked the main street plus the ocean ports, very nice upstairs veranda to sit and relax, bed was very comfortable (not the usual concrete found in most accommodation), very clean and new, all of the ammenities found at home (two AC's, full fridge, large tv, dvd, dishwasher, washing machine dryer, ect ect) we could quite easily live in the townhouse full time.

Following a hiccup with some alternative accommodation at Kingscliff, we changed locations to stay at Cotton Beach. The personal assistance we received from the Reservations Manager in this process was second-to-none (and this was late on a Sunday). Be aware that check-in is not located at the Cotton Beach property, but in a central location nearby via a short drive so not really a problem. The property itself is amazing. If you can afford to splurge, take the 3Bdrm Penthouse. We stayed in a top floor Penthouse. The kids (including young teens) loved the media room, everyone loved the pool area, and it was easy to find breezy spots on the decks and rooftop to eat and play boardgames together. The two ensuite main bedrooms (1 King and 1 Queen) were luxuriously appointed as was the kitchen. Indeed, this is the only apartment we have never felt the need to wash the crockery and cutlery before using it! The oceanviews and birdlife viewing from apartment were an unexpected bonus. The beach was a short walk and not for a long time have we seen a beach as pristine as Casuarina. There was a patrolled beach in walking distance but we were very happy to swim in the lagoon pool in the complex. The property itself is impeccably maintained with beautiful gardens and shady walkways. We spotted the maintenance crew at work but they were very discrete and in fact, most of the time, we felt quite secluded in the accommodation. The underground parking was very convenient to our apartment via lift and the entire complex is very well-secured. Try to arrange a late checkout to enjoy a leisurely departure and final swim before leaving, and be sure to plan and take your food supplies if self-catering to save a drive to find a convenience store. Not really a problem but the time is better spent relaxing than grocery shopping.

Apartment was very nice and view of the beach/ocean was great. The only issue I had was that the bathroom tended to become quite smelly either due to dampness and/or plumbing.

I think the gym nends to be upgraded a little as well - particularly the ventillation. It gets very hot as the fans do not work work well.

We had a wonderful stay at the Contessa. The apartment was just lovely - clean, spacious(we took a teenager so needed extra space) and close to everything.
The inviting front desk went out of their way to help. The foyer was well decorated and the atmosphere was very relaxing.
The outdoor pool was huge. We didn't get time to try the indoor pool but managed to walk through while exploring.
We plan to return!

The accomodation is 3 star at best. The room was not clean, we purchased cleaning products from supermarket and did it ourselves. Even cuttlery and glasses were dirty, the fridge also unclean. Generally the place needs a refurbishment to offer value. Someone needs to teach them how to clean and present an apartment, there is no quality control - not such good value.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is excellent with the beach across the road and the mall near by. There is an nice bistro down the road called Kurrawa Surf Club. The indoor and outdoor pools were great. I loved the Tennis court. The only problem was the bedroom on the eastern side only had a small window and and fan that wasn't that effective. I was very difficult to sleep at night after a hot day. There is a Bus Stop around the corner and the Reception and Security is Great.

The Sherwater Resort is a great place to stay for families- it\'s in a great location (close to the beach) and the amenities (pool, games room). The only negative thing I would have to say it that the furniture in our appartment was quite old and could do with a re-vamp.

Our stay was fine but i was a little distressed when i was locked in the bathroom for over an hour because the door handle was broken. Obviously regular maintenance is not done thoroughly. I was very anxious during this time as we were attending a conference that morning and arrived late. Also, if i had not taken my phone into the bathroom no one would have even know that i was in there as i was staying alone. The hotel manager didnt even stay around long enough to offer an apology. Instead, the front desk staff apologised.

This was our family's second visit to Ian and Jen's peice of paradise over the christmas period. We love it here. The wildlife, hand fed the dolphins, koals, pool, the other guests, location, fishing...it goes on. You can do as little or as much as you want.....This place is magical, the only downside is having to leave. Thanks again guys.

My wife and kids stayed there in a 2 bdm apartment and found it to be really nice. Don't break a glass or anything else there they must import the new ones from overseas as the price list for replacements is ludicrous.
Its worth noting if you do have issues such as we did with matress springs in your back,nothing can be done as all the units are individually owned.
Security was good and it was very handy to the beach and shops (Walking Distance)

Begins on arrival. Access is up a flight of steps.

No parking while checking in other than illegal parking in a loading zone. Would not suit disabled. Mind the foyer step......we tripped up it constantly........

Unit was classed as "de-luxe".
No A/C in living area. Wind from off shore most uncomfortable as windows had to be opened....it was Christmas after all.

No TV in bedrooms (2). Ceiling fan in main bedroom U/S. Both bedroom A/C units were clogged with dust which we had to clean. The general state of cleanliness left a lot to be desired.

You are warned by notice on the Frig that if the unit is left dirty, your credit card will be debited with $50 for cleaning ! Both the brush and mop in the unit were way past their "use-by" date and were almost useless.

Did I mention that this was a DE-LUXE unit?

No bedside lamp in 2nd bedroom and no side lamps in living area.
Crockery and cutlery were sad to say the least. I've seen better in Vinnies or the Salvos Op Shops.

Unit is for 4 people but only 2 chairs on balcony....take it in turns?

4 minute showers (water saving) impossible with the stupid shower heads fitted. Water went to all sides and back of shower....everywhere but where it was needed. Allow at least 15 minutes to get all the soap off.
Supplied toilet paper was the cheapest available and tiny soap. Considering a week's booking the "extras" were minimal.
Rooms are only serviced (fresh linen) after 9 days.

Tourist operators in Australia should really spend some time overseas and see what they are competing against. The feeling I get is that they want the maximum return for the minimum input.

Did I mention that this was a DE-LUXE unit?

Needless to say we will not be returning.

The noise of the nearby intersection means that it is almost impossible to leave the window open for long but the humidity can be suffocating and the aircon noisy at night so a ceiling fan would have been great.

Liked: all the cooking and laundry facility although only a small saucepan was provided. Proximity to Southbank good.
Disliked: no ceiling fan to circulate air in small room; clean towels not provided until day 3

We had a lovely stay in apartment 173 on 17th floor. We couldn't fault the apartment which was very spacious & the view was excellent. Our 7 days at Contessa were relaxing, the close proximity of the beach, restaurants,and shopping, made our holiday very enjoyable. Staying at Contessa was certainly a pleasure for our whole family!

The unit was not disabled friendly. The manager went out of her way to help us, with a hand held shower set as the shower in the bath was completely inaccessible for one of the guests.

I assume 1 is poor & 10 is good but this is a basic flaw which discourages responses!2nd bedroom was very uncomfortable as no overhead or pedestal fan and would have had to have air con on all day if 2nd bedroom was to benefit; I\'ve scored the \"rooms\" excluding this very important factor.

Excellent location, rooms good size but getting tired. Housekeeping staff when cleaning need to check all linen including blankets clean, but overall great location and pool. Getting very popular since last stay.

Excellent apartment nearly new. Great location across the road from the beach and close to Burleigh town centre. Apartment modern with excellent ensuite, two flat screen tv's and very spacious. Pool was a bit of a wind tunnel but spa excellent.

Wonderful apartments. smaller with only about 35-50 apartments. Excellent pool area. Very clean and well appointed.
Enjoyed the free bottle of wine on arrival and the book library you can use during your stay.
About 100 metres from Coles and the main street.

Great accommodation, close to everything, walking distance to shops, clubs, beach, fast food, cinema's, best location in Tweed. Quite and well managed. Plenty of underground car parking, never a problem, parked next to lifts. Baggage trolleys were also a great feature as made unloading a simple and one step process. Very modern, spacious, clean units, plenty of linen, great outdoor pool. Could not recommend highly enough. Normally stay in Surfers, but this location is far better.

We loved our overnight stay at this Hotel. We checked in 2 hours early, and asked to upgrade from a standard suite to an Executive Suite, normally a $50 upgrade, when we went to pay for it in the morning, they waived it as the computers were a bit slow. Had a late check out at 12pm instead of 10am. The room was perfectly clean and quiet even though right by the lift. Incredible view on 18th floor and really comfy king sized bed! Best location on Queen Street Mall.

My stay was OK. The person in the room next door was smoking in their room despite being non smoking and therefore my room stunk the whole time. I complained but nothing was done about it so I was pretty disappointed about that. Otherwise the room was comfortable. I wont be coming back but only because of the smoking, if that didnt happen I would have been quite happy.

Older style apartments. The main light in the bathroom didn\'t work but plenty of room and comfortable. The pillows were very old and stained though - bring your own pillow or pillow protector as I did! Very pleased I was given a room as per my \'special request\' - I would stay here again :)

What a great get away. Relaxing, peaceful, entertaining, enjoyable. Owners Jenni and Ian were fantastic. Loved the cabins, the pool, the sea life and the kookaburras.

South Pacific Plaza is a marvellous place to stay for a Gold Coast break. Reasonably priced, perfectly located, gorgeous views, lovely pool area, right on the mall with cafes and shops mere metres away. We\'re repeat visitors already and we\'ll be back for sure!

Booked "Superior Ocean View" room, which was actually located on the back of the building. If we leaned over the balcony we could see the ocean. Was told we had the right room. Very unfriendly staff. Cheap furniture, dirty rooms with dust on everything. Dirty, uncleaned toilets. Filthy windows, couldn't see past all the previous guests kids greasy hand marks on the windows. Windows leaked water all over the floor inside, creating puddles.

Paid bill at checkout, which we believed was in full. Then 3 months later, we get charged an additional $500 on our credit card with out so much as a phone call to explain why. Turns out they under charged on checkout. We have no issue paying money owing, but charging us without so much as a phone call during the christmas period is just wrong.

I would suggest you strongly rethink staying here, the price may be right, but it's for obvious reasons. We will NEVER stay here again.

Excellent views, spacious apartment. Convenient to cinema, restaurants and cafes. We didn't use the car at all during our stay. Great place to stay if you have teenagers as they are able to go off to the beach or cinema while you relax in the apartment.

great place to stay very central clean rooms pool was not clean and spa was dreadfull. not recommended for families with smalll kids very concerned about windows with no safety catch for kids (can fall out easily)

Here on honeymoon - views to die for. Apartment was very cool with lots of space. Love the new pool, spa, gardens and bbq. So close to surf club and casino. Staff helped us with places to eat. Beach is ssoooooo close. We will definitely be back

Spent 5 nights in beautiful bright 1-bedroom apartment with water views and fab bathroom. 10-15 min walk to city shops, restaurants along waterside boardwalk. Few minutes to outstanding children\'s playground on esplanade.

Disliked: slippery floor tiles in shower; no wireless broadband & ethernet cable & modem located so you have to work on low settee not at table, internet connection too expensive $5 per 15 mins.
